Russia’s New Red Line: Will the US Supply Tomahawks to Ukraine?

Moscow – Russia has drawn a new and significant red line in the Ukraine conflict, with President Vladimir Putin warning that the U.S. supplying Tomahawk missiles would be an unforgivable act of escalation. The question now is whether Washington will cross it.
Putin’s threat is based on the claim that the missiles cannot be operated without direct U.S. military involvement. This, he says, would trigger a “qualitatively new stage of escalation” and would lead to the “destruction” of the US-Russia relationship.
This warning was issued as Putin also celebrated his military’s progress on the ground. He announced that his forces had captured almost 5,000 square kilometers of Ukrainian territory this year, securing the “complete strategic initiative” for Moscow.
While the world watches this missile-related standoff, Ukraine has raised alarms about a different threat. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy accused Russia of using its oil tanker fleet for covert military missions, including spying and sabotage.
Zelenskyy assured that Ukraine was not standing idly by. He announced that Kyiv is collaborating with its allies to find a way to stop these activities, stating with firm conviction that a solution is “entirely possible.”
