Trump Vows “Harder” Strikes if Iran Targets Global Energy Supplies

Date:

President Donald Trump has issued a high-stakes warning to Tehran, stating that any attempt to block the Strait of Hormuz will be met with a response “twenty times harder.” Trump claimed the war is “very complete, pretty much” because the Iranian military has lost its ability to mount a conventional defense. He described the campaign as a “short-term excursion” intended to protect the world from the “evil” of the previous regime.

The President’s comments follow the naming of Mojtaba Khamenei as the new Supreme Leader in Tehran, a move Trump has dismissed as a “big mistake.” Trump remains skeptical of the new leader’s ability to lead, referring to him as a “lightweight” who cannot fill his father’s shoes. Despite the leadership change, U.S. and Israeli forces have continued to target the Revolutionary Guard’s core infrastructure.

Trump defended the pre-emptive strikes, stating that an attack on the U.S. and Israel was “100% certain” before the coalition intervened. He praised the “amazing” achievements of the military, which he says have occurred much faster than initial four-week predictions. The President’s focus is on a “decisive and final” end to the Iranian threat.

Energy prices have been the most visible indicator of the war’s impact, with oil hitting $119.50 per barrel before Trump’s reassurance of an early end caused a sharp drop. The President has made the Strait of Hormuz a focal point, warning that he is “thinking about taking over” the waterway to ensure shipping safety. His rhetoric aims to project overwhelming force to deter any further economic sabotage.

As the conflict enters its second week, the human cost is mounting, with over 1,200 deaths reported in Iran and widespread displacement in Lebanon. Trump’s “already won” narrative is being balanced against the ongoing need to neutralize missile launchers and drone sites. The coming days will test the President’s ability to conclude the “excursion” while maintaining regional dominance.
