Finally, You Can Watch Reels and Text at the Same Time on Instagram

Date:

The multitasking dilemma on Instagram is finally being solved. The platform has begun testing a Picture-in-Picture (PiP) feature that will, at last, let you watch Reels and text your friends at the same time.
This new functionality, currently available to a small test group, allows a Reel to shrink down into a floating mini-player when you switch to another app. The video keeps playing, so you don’t have to choose between finishing a great clip and replying to an important message. This brings Instagram up to speed with features that users of other video apps have enjoyed for years.
This is a game-changer for both users and creators. Users get a more convenient and flexible app, while creators can look forward to higher completion rates on their videos. The feature is expected to be optional, with a toggle to turn it off if it’s not for you.
In more good news, Instagram has also launched a dedicated iPad app. This means a better, bigger, and more beautiful experience for watching Reels and browsing your feed on a tablet.
