Lok Sabha Erupts Over Rahul Gandhi’s Comments Impacting Economic Policies

Date:

The Lok Sabha witnessed a fiery debate when Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition, accused Union Home Minister Amit Shah of sanctioning the use of force against students protesting the NEET paper leak incident. Gandhi asserted that the deployment of pellets on the demonstrators was approved at the highest echelons of the government. This allegation sparked vehement disapproval from the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Kiren Rijiju, the Parliamentary Affairs Minister, demanded that Gandhi provide evidence to substantiate his claims, labeling the accusations as unfounded. Rijiju urged that Gandhi’s remarks be expunged from the official records and insisted on an apology from him, emphasizing that such grave allegations should not be made without concrete proof.

The session became more contentious when Gandhi criticized the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), employing language that Speaker Om Birla deemed “unparliamentary.” Consequently, these remarks were removed from the parliamentary records. This confrontation further heightened the political friction surrounding the ongoing NEET paper leak issue.

The controversy over the NEET paper leak has been a focal point of political unrest, with the opposition accusing the government of mishandling the situation. The allegations made by Gandhi in the Lok Sabha have only added fuel to the fire, intensifying the already charged atmosphere within the Indian political landscape.
