Israel has endorsed what is effectively an “all for all” deal: a permanent ceasefire for the return of all hostages and the complete disarmament of Hamas. The government’s acceptance of this comprehensive, U.S.-brokered proposal was confirmed by a senior official.
This “all for all” framework implies a total resolution of the core issues. “All” hostages are to be returned, and in exchange, “all” of Hamas’s military capabilities must be dismantled to secure a “full” and permanent ceasefire. It is a formula for a definitive end to the conflict.
This approach is designed to leave no room for ambiguity. It avoids partial agreements or temporary truces that have failed in the past, aiming instead for a single, all-encompassing settlement that can bring lasting peace and security to the region.
Israel’s endorsement of this holistic approach is a major step forward. It now falls to Hamas to decide if they are also willing to engage in an “all for all” solution, which would require them to give up their armed struggle in its entirety.
