Russia’s “Aerial Terror” Campaign: Zelensky Details Nationwide Attacks

Date:

President Volodymyr Zelensky has provided a grim overview of Russia’s ongoing “aerial terror” campaign, detailing a coordinated series of nationwide attacks designed to cripple infrastructure and terrorize the civilian population.
The report began with a massive drone barrage, with 96 UAVs launched at targets across the country. While most were downed, the sheer volume represents a significant and sustained assault. Zelensky then detailed the devastating impact of the strikes that got through.
In Kharkiv, he reported, an aerial bomb struck a city hospital, injuring 57 people and also damaging local energy infrastructure. In the Kirovohrad region, civilian infrastructure was hit. In the Sumy region, both energy facilities and a local enterprise were damaged.
By listing these disparate attacks together, Zelensky paints a picture of a calculated, nationwide strategy by Moscow. This is not a series of isolated battlefield events, but a deliberate campaign targeting the foundations of Ukrainian society.
This detailed accounting of Russia’s actions serves a clear purpose: it is the evidence Zelensky presents to the world to justify his urgent demands. It is because of this “aerial terror” that he needs advanced air defense systems and a new, decisive push for a peace that will bring it to an end.
