Russia Offers to Support India’s AMCA with Su-57 Stealth Fighter

Date:

In a major overture, Russia has offered to support India’s indigenous AMCA fifth-generation fighter program through the local production of its own Su-57 stealth jet.
Ambassador Denis Alipov announced the proposal as the next logical step in a 60-year defense partnership. He stated Russia is ready to “move confidently toward local production of the Su-57… supporting India’s AMCA program.”
This high-level technology sharing builds on decades of successful joint ventures, like the BrahMos missile and Su-30 MKI jets, which Alipov praised as “shared achievements.”
This major defense pitch comes as a clear counter-signal to US pressure. The US has imposed tariffs on India, partly over its oil trade with Russia, and Donald Trump has claimed India will stop this trade.
India’s MEA refuted Trump, citing “national interest.” Russia’s offer to collaborate on India’s most ambitious aerospace project is a powerful incentive to maintain that independent stance.
