China and India are gearing up for their 25th round of Special Representatives’ Talks concerning their longstanding boundary issues, as confirmed by a spokesperson from the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Guo Jiakun. During a regular briefing on Tuesday, Guo emphasized the ongoing communication between the two nations on border matters, highlighting their commitment to implementing the agreements forged during the last round of discussions.
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi is currently visiting New Delhi, where he is attending the 16th Meeting of BRICS National Security Advisors and High Representatives on National Security. On Monday, Wang engaged in a meeting with Indian National Security Adviser Ajit Doval, demonstrating continued diplomatic engagement between the two countries.
Guo reassured that the situation along the China-India border remains stable, with both nations effectively utilizing their communication channels. He pointed out that efforts are being made to actively implement the consensus reached during the 24th round of boundary negotiations, underscoring a mutual dedication to maintaining peace and stability at the frontier.
The forthcoming talks are poised to further the dialogue aimed at managing border issues, reflecting the two countries’ shared objective of preserving harmony along their shared border. These discussions are part of an ongoing process to address and resolve the complex boundary issues that have historically challenged China-India relations.
